6) Reminder: Segregate your waste and dispose in right bin –support environment and AIT’s long-term sustainability goals
Email from Director OSC on 7 January 2026
Dear AIT Community,
Warm greetings of a very happy and prosperous new year 2026 from the Office of Sustainable Campus (OSC)
This is a gentle reminder regarding AIT’s Campus Waste Management Policy, which has been in effect since September 2025 below is the glimpse of the overall long term plan. We are currently implementing Phase 1 of the process, which focuses on the collection of plastic and paper waste through the yellow bins placed across the campus.

We are pleased to inform you that AIT has formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with AliveLoop Co., Ltd., our recycling partner, who will be collecting all plastic and paper waste from campus at no cost to AIT and recycling it into various value-added products. This marks an important milestone in strengthening AIT’s circular economy and sustainability efforts.
However, based on several survey reports and observation assessments conducted last year, it is evident that there is still significant room for improvement in community behavior, particularly in:
-
Proper waste segregation, and
-
Disposing waste into the correct bins.
For this initiative to succeed, individual responsibility and daily practice are critical. We therefore kindly urge everyone to:
-
Segregate waste at home:
If you require an additional household bin, please visit OSC to sign a sustainability pledge and collect a bin free of charge. -
Segregate waste in offices and common areas:
OSC is rolling out three-layer bin systems for offices across campus. Partial distribution has already been completed, and the remaining offices will be covered soon. We kindly request everyone to use these bins correctly.

Should you have any questions, concerns, or require further assistance, please feel free to contact the Office of Sustainable Campus (OSC). We are always happy to support you.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and commitment to making AIT a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable campus.
