1) Urgent Appeal for Donations: Aid Earthquake Relief Efforts in Myanmar and Thailand

Dear Members of the AIT Community,

The recent 7.7-magnitude earthquake that hit central Myanmar (Sagaing and Mandalay), with tremors felt in Thailand, China, and India, has left a trail of devastation, claiming more than 1,700 lives; over 3,400 have been injured, and the caused widespread destruction, including the collapse of buildings and significant damage to critical infrastructure.  Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by this tragic event.

In light of this urgent crisis, the AIT Alumni Association, Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, in collaboration with the Student Union (SU) and RecyGlo, is launching a donation campaign to aid the victims of the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand.

We would like to kindly invite you to consider taking part in this campaign and jointly as an AIT community show our support and solidarity for Myanmar and Thailand during this difficult and challenging period for the country.  Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a significant impact.  Please specify that your donation is intended for the "Earthquake Victims in Myanmar and Thailand," and rest assured that official receipts will be provided.  For those working in Thailand, cash donations are tax-deductible.

5) Doctoral Final Examination - Mr. Arindam Biswas (122270)

Mr. Arindam Biswas (122270), a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Systems and Engineering, Department of  Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources, School of Environment, Resources and Development, will have his final examination on 18 April 2025 (Friday) at 10:30 hrs in Room 216, AFE Building. 1) Invitation - Green Industry Innovation and Development 2025

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

We are excited to share and invite you to the first Green Industry Innovation and Development program for 2025. Built upon the success of the programs in 2024, we are happy to organize the trip for potential collaborations to Chongqing, China again this year on the topic of Energy Transition, Carbon Reduction Efforts and Sustainable Development.

This program is co-organized by AIT BRRC and Chongqing Renewable Energy Society (CRES), for AIT Alumni/members and Non-AIT alumni/members to carry out in-depth industrial and technology exchange in China, especially from the energy and green technology related field. 3) Global Giant Prawn Leaders Unite in Huzhou, China

The GIANT PRAWN 2025 Conference, seventh edition of the top global conference for freshwater prawn farming (Macrobrachium spp.), is set for June 8-11, 2025, at the Dongwu New Century Grand Hotel Huzhou in Zhejiang Province, China. It will be organized by the Aquaculture Program of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, and Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU), China, in collaboration with the Zhejiang Institute of Freshwater Fisheries (ZIFF) and Huzhou University, China. GIANT PRAWN 2025 marks the next big event in this prestigious series, following the 2023 conference hosted by AIT in Bangkok in 2023. Designed to advance sustainable aquaculture practices and promote global collaboration in freshwater prawn farming, GP 2025 is focused on the theme “Navigating Innovation and Sustainability in Giant Prawn Aquaculture”.
