Notes from the Management Team
President's call to assist collection of AIT data for QS Stars
Dear Members of the AIT Community
In my 18 August 2014 communication, I had reported that AIT Administration has contacted the QS Intelligence Unit (QSIU) to perform an audit of AIT’s overall academic activities under its QS Stars program.
I am pleased to announce that the QS Stars audit has now commenced, and we have been requested to submit the initial critical data by 21st October 2014.
Since AIT is not eligible to be ranked in most of the major world university rankings, due to its primarily postgraduate focus, QS Stars which is a complementary companion to QS World University Rankings helps facilitates the evaluation of universities and institutions like AIT, across a much broader range of criteria and with respect to established thresholds rather than the performance of others. The objectives are to allow institutions like AIT to shine, irrespective of their size, shape and mission. By participating in the QS Stars AIT can better evaluate itself across a wide spectrum of criteria, in order to make the required improvements, as well as to communicate to the world its standings in different areas.
The administration is currently in the process of collecting the data / information, and I would like to request all concerned offices and units, to extend their full support and cooperation to the process, since accurate and complete data / information is essential to achieve good results and a favorable rating for the Institute.

Similar to the QS Stars, AIT is also participating in the U-Multirank 2015, which is an alternate approach to the world university rankings, and more of a ratings, funded by the European Union (EU). The dimensions it includes are teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional engagement.
AIT has already completed and submitted the first round of the survey, and I would like to thank all colleagues, who helped provide inputs for the survey. Aside from the U-Multirank 2015 institutional survey, AIT is also taking part in one of the field based U-Multirank surveys, namely the Computer Science / IT, which is the only field based offering that matches with AIT's offerings, from among the 3 fields identified for 2015, namely, computer science, psychology and medicine.
Further details on the U-Multirank is available at the below link.

President
